Introducing the Professional Certificate in Chemical Pathology Laboratory Data Analysis
Offered by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through UKMShape in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Clinical Biochemists (MACB), this 6-month hybrid programme is designed for laboratory professionals seeking to strengthen their understanding of pathophysiology and biochemical data interpretation in relation to disease processes. The course emphasises clinical application, laboratory management, and accurate data reporting—key areas in improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
Scholarship Opportunity
MACB is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for eligible applicants enrolling in this programme. This support aims to encourage continuing education and skill development among medical laboratory professionals in Malaysia.
- The MACB Scholarship aims to support the professional development of laboratory-based healthcare professionals in chemical pathology.
- To ensure alignment with the objectives of this scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a clinical biochemistry or chemical pathology laboratory, with active involvement in diagnostic services.
- Must be an active MACB member for at least 3 consecutive years at the time of application.
- Demonstrated contribution to MACB activities (e.g., serving as committee member, speaker, abstract presenter, or event volunteer) will be prioritized.
- Must submit a letter of support from their Head of Department or direct supervisor, outlining:
- Applicant’s current role and responsibilities
- Relevance of the training to their scope of work
- Potential impact on patient care or lab service quality
- Tell us in your own words (up to 300 words) why you want to join the course, how it helps with your current job and future plans, how you will use what you learn at work, and how you can give back to MACB (like sharing knowledge or helping with activities)
- Post-Training Contribution
- Must submit a brief report within 1 month of course completion.
- Willing to share major takeaways via MACB (e.g. CPD webinar, poster, or newsletter article etc).
